I Can’t Even Think of a Title

I haven’t been posting as regularly as I have over the past few months. To be completely honest, I’ve been absorbed with reading more interesting things and trying to figure out my life. Blogging has not been a priority lately.

The holidays mixed with other priorities will mean Kapitalust takes a backseat until the new year.

However, I am really excited about a completely new project I am going to roll out in January. I’ve been getting bored hashing out personal finance posts. Honestly, there isn’t much to personal finance: if you can make money, live below your means, stay out of debt, and invest your surplus, you will do really, really well.

Wow, I just gave away the “secret” of personal finance.

  1. I hear ya. Life is way more important than a hobby blog. 🙂 For what it’s worth, I’m also a terrible personal finance blogger.

    1. Haha you’ll have to compare with that post when it comes out to see how much we are alike when it comes to being terrible personal finance bloggers 😉

  2. Looking forward to your new project in Jan. I’m finally done with all my work travel for 2014 so I will finally have time to sit down and brainstorm about some blog project ideas.

    1. Would love to hear some of your ideas once you start brainstorming – come out for poker in January and you can collaborate and bounce those ideas off with some other bloggers 🙂

  3. Hey man, hear you. Is tough sometimes to figure out what we really want from life, and where we feel we should be moving towards. Downtimes like the Christmas holidays are a great time to reflect on where we’ve been over the last year, and focus on what we would like to accomplish over the next one.

Really looking forward to your new project!

    Cheers 🙂

  4. Steve,

I feel you! Been terribly busy lately and the blog has been taking a back-seat, mainly because I’ve been hanging out with friends more than the past few months.

Recently I find coming up with new ideas for posts quite difficult too. So many things have been said by others already and the other stuff I want to write about makes so much sense in my head that I can’t imagine anyone else not thinking of it when dealing with his own finances.

Looking forward to your new project!

    Best wishes,
    NMW

    1. Yeah been feeling the same way – funny how the energy for blogging is as volatile at the markets 😉

I was/am struggling with the same thing and I’ve come to realize I just need to write what interests me, and not worry too much on what other people think: if they like it, great, if they don’t, well they can **** off 🙂

I was getting way to bogged down with what I thought other people needed/wanted to read rather than what I wanted to write.

  5. I’m curious to know about your new project. I’m interested in PF but I know what you mean… It can get boring sometimes. That’s why my blog focuses on balance/lifestyle with a BIG emphasis on money (mostly cause I’m cheap though.) ;D

    1. It can get REALLY tiresome sometime, especially when you overthink it in terms of what sort of content you should be producing. I need to find a balance of a more natural approach to talking about the niche area I love without all the cliche trappings. Probably has something to do with write from your heart *gag* 😉

  6. Hi there Steve,

I guess that feeling is definitely not foreign to the majority of PF bloggers out there and you are absolutely right to say that topics should be those that interest you most.

To me, it has always been about writing content that I need to improve most in my PF life.

Meanwhile, keep us updated with your new project!

    Cheers,
