Sometimes it’s been said better than I could ever have said it myself. The following are pieces of wisdom that have and continue to influence my financial philosophy.
We are all being conned. Banks, universities, even bloggers are all either wittingly or unwittingly conning us. Life really is just one big confidence game. Those of us who don’t realize this are like sheep to the slaughter; too easy for those who realize it to fleece the unsuspecting and unassuming.
The future is always uncertain. However, the paradox is that you pay a heavy premium to participate in the game when the market forecast is bright and sunny. And when the forecast is dreary and depressive, you can buy dollars for cents. The strange thing is that nothing has changed in either scenario. Fundamentally, the future is always uncertain. That to me, is the uncertainty principe.
